There are 67 species of Juniper that grow all over the world but particularly in Northern hemisphere and vary in size and height. The particular specie we use grows in a bush like manner with thousands of branches. The biggest brunch comes to about 4 inches in diameter, so you might appreciate all our products are made out of small pieces. The wood has a beautiful pattern with hints of different colours in it, it also has wonderful therapeutic scent.Our striking mosaic technique is made out of cross cuts of Juniper branches, which are then pressed and glued together with organic kitchenware glue. To keep your Juniper board in pristine condition it is best not to soak it in water. Just rinse or wipe it with soapy water and let it dry naturally. You can also re-oil your board with pure vegetable oil to enhance the colour and protect it. Just rub small amount of oil onto the wood with your fingers. If you like to release more scent you can also re-sand the wood with very fine sand paper.Juniper is very strong hard wood so fell free to chop on your board and do not worry about the temperature of the dishes you put on the heat stand, it can take very high temperature, even straight from the oven!
